Jon Kimber


Jon undertook his formal training at the Hilton Brisbane.

Over the years, Jon has worked closely with some of the best chefs from all over Australia.

A seasoned chef of nearly 20 years, he has been inspired and mentored by some of the best restaurant kitchens in Melbourne, including The Press club and The Smith, Prahran. Lucky for us, Jon landed in Adelaide 8 years ago as Head Chef at Georges on Waymouth and from there he built on his passion for modern Asian and Japanese flavours and climbed the ranks in the Adelaide food scene to become one of our best loved quiet achievers. Palate, a brand new restaurant opening on Pirie Street, will showcase the talents of Jon and his team from early 2024.

We are excited to announce that his engaging personality and passion for teaching has led him to fill up his weekends at Sticky Rice Cooking School, with classes that are sure to incorporate a lot of fun, restaurant skills and modern techniques.
