Kids Cooking Classes And More For 2023
Jim Talladira; a Sicilian trained food master will be debuting his Italian classes this year so stay tuned for the dates to be added to our calendar.
A formal trained chef in Adelaide starting his career and training at windy point restaurant. Then taking charge of the kitchen at La Mensa restaurant he was able to fine tune his Italian skills which he learnt from his nonno, who had the first licensed Italian restaurant in Adelaide circa 1952.
During his many years of heading up some of Adelaide’s influential Italian restaurants he was privileged enough to cook for the likes of Kate Winslet, Alice Cooper, Sooshi Mango, Anthony Salame to name a few.
After working in Singapore at Villa Romana- one of Singapore’s first Italian restaurants, Jim headed back to Adelaide and opened Il toro pasta & espresso bar with his daughter Caitlin, il toro focussed on regional Italian handmade pasta and gnocchi.
Jim travels to Italy regularly to work in one of the family restaurants or learning pasta skills from his many aunties.
Jim works with his daughter Caitlin now as a consultant chef in Australia. He regularly does cooking demos at many Italian festivals in Australia, helping to keep the age old tradition of handmade pasta alive.

PATISSERIE & DESSERT MASTERCLASSES
We were delighted to have incredible chef Jodie Childs back in our kitchen again after a 4 year break to focus on her growing family. Our first patisserie masterclass ran in February and was a huge success!
Jodie is offering brand new menus for both her Patisserie and dessert cooking classes which are part of new series of workshops.
The Insta worthy results proved to be the true stars of the show and the deserts were delicious. The class focuses on some lesser known techniques and it was lovely to see so many familiar faces still challenging their culinary skills in this brand-new class.
We loved this mid week addition to our schedule and a glass of wine while indulging on chocolate mousse was just the cherry on top to get us through to the weekend.
2 menus-Which class will you choose?
Basque cheesecake with seasonal fruit. Raspberry, coconut and white chocolate roulade. Chocolate Valdespino mousse with espresso jelly and spun toffee
OR
Chocolate and hazelnut mousse domes with passion fruit gel. Profiteroles with salted caramel cream. Blueberry and almond meringue cake.
Our dessert classes are 6pm- 9pm and customers can take their desserts home to share with their loved ones.
